The Presbyterian Church “Coram Deo”

Novolitovsk, Partizanski region of Primorski krai, Russia

The Presbyterian Church in Novolitovsk in the Far East of Russia was started by a Korean missionary. First meetings of the church were held in private homes of the people of this town. Worship services and Bible studies were led by preachers of Nakhodka church, including me.

In spring of 2006 I was chosen to be a permanent preacher in this town. In 2007 it was decided to build a separate building for the church meetings.

We bought a piece of land on the means of my family and contributions of the parishioners of Nakhodka church and other churches of Primorski region. On November 2 we laid the foundation, and on April 25, 2009 the church building was consecrated and I was ordained for the pastoral ministry.

At present the Presbyterian Church “Coram Deo” has 10 members who attend the church on a regular basis.

Our ministries: Sunday – Covenant Renewal Liturgy; Wednesday – Bible Study; Friday night – prayer

Our vision: to change the worldview of our parishioners actually from secular to biblical through the ministry to the Lord and to make this worldview influence all other spheres of their lives. So that they could see in reality the fulfillment of God’s promise: "They will be mine," says the LORD Almighty, "in the day when I make up my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as in compassion a man spares his son who serves him. And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not” (Mal. 3:17, 18).

Our purpose is to preach the Gospel, to worship God in a way shown in the Holy Scriptures and to create the true Presbyterian structure of our community.
