Romanovka, Primorskii kray, Russia
My name is Ruslan Moroz. I’m forty four. I have a wife, two kids and one grandson.
My wife’s name is Olga, she is forty four. She works in a bank. Our daughter’s name is Yana, she is twenty two. She graduated the University this year as a designer. She is married and they have a son Maxim. Our son’s name is Anton, he is fourteen. He is a schoolboy.
I am a pastor of the “Light to the World” Presbyterian Church in the Far East of Russia. Our church is located in Romanovka village.
In 2007 our church sent me and my family as missionaries to Romanovka village. In 2009 we could build a church building by alms and consecrated it. Our church is very young – it’s only two years old.
As for the Biblical Theological Seminary of St. Petersburg, I’m the first year student of this seminary. I always wanted to hear the real Reformed teaching which is not in our area. Therefore together with other brothers we tried to find necessary materials in Internet to study on our own.
Even though I’ve just started my education in St. Petersburg Seminary I apply all knowledge I’ve already received here in my church. We have weekly communion, we baptize and commune children. I promote the idea of man’s responsibility in his ministry to his family as a priest. Deep analysis of the Old Testament, Church history, church discipline, and covenant theology moulds me as a Reformed pastor. Today I cannot even imagine how I could do my ministry without knowing all these things. For a year after the first semester our church has grown twice. Right now there are 40 Christians in it.
From the first day when our church was opened I’ve lived in it. My wife and my son live in the city and come for weekends.
Ministry in America has traditions and the order of worship and community and family life. We do not have anything like that here so far. After two intensive courses when I had a chance to talk to our brothers who came to teach in the seminary I understood that I cannot do anything the proper way. I think your experience will help me to build the true Presbyterian Church in Romanovka village.

The Keys of the Kingdom
Jesus gave the keys of the Kingdom to leaders of the church, promising universal victory to His Church (Matt. 16:18).
In Acts the pattern of church planting indicates that the churches sent men across cultural and national borders to nourish weaker churches and establish new ones (Acts 11-15).
Therefore, it is local churches which are to take the initiative and responsibility in preaching the Gospel to all creation and sending missionaries to plant churches to the ends of the earth.
