Timur Anichkin

Riga, Latvia

I am 38 years old. I have been a Christian for 20 years already. In November 1991, God called me to faith by the testimony about His Only Son from one brother in Christ. I became a member of the Baptist Church.

In a year I became a student of the Biblical Institute in my country. After graduation God called me to be a pastor of the Reformed church in one of the small places in Riga that is the capital of Latvia. After one year of my ministry there I was inaugurated as a pastor and ordained by the congregation to be a teacher and a preacher of the Word.

In three years of my ministry, I entered the Baltic Reformed Theological Seminary (BRTS) and graduated from it in 2008. Two years later I became a student of the Biblical Theological Seminary (BTS) of St. Petersburg where I am planning to get the M.Div. degree.

I got married in 2004. God blessed my marriage by giving us a daughter who was born the next year. She is our firstborn child who was in the covenant. Jurmala is a town on the wave crest. Its population is 56 060. Among them 50.8% are Latvians (28 356) and 35.1% are Russians (19 628). It is a small town with small population, and hence, small Christian congregations. Our congregation is also small but we have far-reaching perspectives.

The Keys of the Kingdom

Jesus gave the keys of the Kingdom to leaders of the church, promising universal victory to His Church (Matt. 16:18).

Keys of the KingdomIn Acts the pattern of church planting indicates that the churches sent men across cultural and national borders to nourish weaker churches and establish new ones (Acts 11-15).

Therefore, it is local churches which are to take the initiative and responsibility in preaching the Gospel to all creation and sending missionaries to plant churches to the ends of the earth.
